Watch: In Deranged Interview, Dem Rep Blames Trump for Hurricane Aftermath That Hasn't Happened Yet

Share

A Democratic Representative from Illinois, Luis Gutierrez, is mad at President Donald Trump over his response to the aftermath of Hurricane Florence. He blames the poor response on his assertion that Trump is “consumed” by the chaos in the White House, and spends every weekend golfing. The only problem?

Florence was days from landfall when his statement was made, and even now hovers over the Atlantic.

Watch Rep. Gutierrez’s statement below.

Rep. Gutierrez’s demeanor in the video can be described as “rabid.”

The representative ranted, bringing up golf outings, The New York Times op-ed, and even the Justice Department. Towards the end of the video, it appears his microphone was cut off right as he began to shout and wave his hand.

This outburst falls in line with the mainstream media’s latest attacks on Trump. He bears all their blame for the supposed 3,000 hurricane-related deaths in Puerto Rico. Trump’s response to Hurricane Maria was seen as swift and effective, considering the already poor infrastructure of the island.

In fact, drinking water is still sitting on a Puerto Rico tarmac, covered in tattered tarps. Poor organization on Puerto Rico’s part appears to be the culprit.

President Trump has denied the high death toll, even tweeting about the “really large numbers.”

Rep. Gutierrez’s attacks seem to be par for the course when it comes to Democratic opposition to President Trump.

The president has faced an overwhelming amount of criticism and bias from mainstream media personalities. Any lawmaker can now make a name for himself with a 15-second rant on CNN.

Even while on the campaign trail in 2016, Trump had to contend with doomsday prophecies from political opponents. Some claimed he would pave the way for a “global recession.”
