Watch: Fed Up Lindsey Graham Mocks Lying Kavanaugh Haters to Their Faces

Share

Republican South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham has long been looked at somewhat suspiciously by staunch conservatives due to his appearance as a member in good standing of the political establishment, as well as his tendency of reaching across the aisle to work with Democrats, not to mention his prevarication on certain issues like immigration.

That has changed somewhat in recent months, as Graham has increasingly shown himself to be a strong supporter of President Donald Trump and his MAGA agenda, most recently displayed by his fiery defense of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh over the Democrat smears of sexual misconduct allegations against him.

Those who paid attention during the Sept. 27 Senate Judiciary Committee hearing featuring testimony from Kavanaugh and accuser Christine Blasey Ford will recall Graham’s impassioned diatribe against the dirty tactics employed by his formerly friendly liberal colleagues, not to mention other remarks issued over the interceding days.

Graham appears to still be on fire, as he mocked an anti-Kavanaugh protester on Thursday with a reference to the infamous Salem witch trials of early American history.

Regarding Kavanaugh, Graham told a group of reporters in the hallways of the Senate building, “You’ve humiliated this guy enough and there seems to be no bottom for some of you.”

At that point a protester yelled out that all of this could end if Kavanaugh would submit himself to a polygraph test, to which Graham quipped, “Why don’t we dunk him in water and see if he floats?”

For those who may not recall the Salem witch trials or other literal “witch hunts” throughout history — which occurred prior to the American institution of presumption of innocence — a common technique to devise the guilt or innocence of an accused witch was to tie them up and toss them in a body of water. If they sank and drowned, they were innocent … but dead, whereas if they managed to float instead of sink, they were regarded as a witch and summarily executed, thus ending up dead either way.

This is a rather apt description of the anti-Kavanaugh campaign. Mounted by the left through Senate Democrats, the liberal media and liberal activists, this anti-Kavanaugh movement of late has become a figurative “witch hunt” that has assumed the nominee’s guilt without evidence, seeking to destroy him both politically and career-wise regardless of whether he sinks or floats, so to speak.

Are you enjoying this new and improved fired-up version of Sen. Lindsey Graham?

But Graham wasn’t finished there, as per a report from The Hill, as he had other fiery remarks to offer up in regards to his colleagues across the aisle, specifically calling out Democrat Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono.

“The bottom line here: process. Most all Democrats had made up their mind (before the allegations broke). Sen. Hirono said, ‘well the goal here is to delay the hearing past the midterms so we can fill the seat,'” Graham said.

“Now, she was foolish enough to say that. Are we smart enough to believe her? I actually do believe her. That’s the goal. It’s not about the truth,” he continued.

Graham added, “Enough. Enough already, let’s vote.”

This is a new and improved Sen. Graham that many conservatives are cheering on, while simultaneously wondering where he has been for so many years.

This updated version of Graham is one who is utterly unafraid to take on his Democrat colleagues and the liberal media while staunchly backing President Trump and his agenda, which in this case involves placing the judicially conservative Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court.

To say that conservatives couldn’t be more thrilled to witness this pleasantly surprising change would be nothing short of an understatement, and we certainly hope this newly awake and fired up Graham is here to stay.
