Watch: Fox Host Nails Gillibrand as She Desperately Tries To Worm Out of Question on Hypocrisy

Share

Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand had a hard time hiding her hypocrisy Monday after Fox News host Chris Wallace pressed her on campaign finance.

Gillibrand should have known that Fox News wouldn’t play softball with her when she joined Wallace on “Special Report” to talk about her presidential run.

The Democratic presidential contender has marketed herself as far-left as they come. She’s even suggested that a “third gender” classification should be implemented at the federal level.

However, Gillibrand is in fierce competition with other candidates to be the most left-wing presidential candidate.

For example, Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts is refusing to hold fundraising events with big donors for her presidential run.

In a Twitter thread on Monday, Warren explained that “there’ll be no event you’ll be excluded from because you can’t afford it, and no better seats or 1:1 time with me at events if you can.”

That’s in contrast with Gillibrand, who will be hosting a pricey fundraising event next month with an executive for the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, according to CNBC.

In her thread, Warren took shots at candidates like Gillibrand for spending “way too much time with wealthy donors.”

“Let’s call out something that usually goes unspoken: Presidential candidates spend way too much time with wealthy donors. For every time you see a presidential candidate talking with voters, they’re spending three or four times as long with wealthy donors behind closed doors,” Warren tweeted.

This glaring difference between Gillibrand’s campaign and Warren’s campaign was brought up by Wallace on Monday.

“A top executive for Pfizer is holding a big fundraiser for you at the end of March. Tickets are $1,000 to $2,700. Is Warren right that access to candidates is for sale?” Wallace asked.

“No, but I think you do need to get money out of politics,” Gillibrand said. “The most important thing we have to do is upend the way our democracy functions. Today, the wealthiest, most powerful lobbyists and special interest groups get to write bills in the dead of night.”

Wallace was nearly blown away by Gillibrand’s blatant hypocrisy.

“OK, but answer my one question directly,” Wallace said in an attempt to get her to address the fundraiser.

As Gillibrand continued to dodge the question, Wallace reiterated, “This is a drug executive who’s holding this meeting.”

After finishing a bizarrely hypocritical rant about “so much greed,” Gillibrand eventually admitted that she wouldn’t cancel the fundraiser with the Pfizer executive.

“At the end of the day, people are going to support our campaigns because they believe in us,” she said, before launching into a long litany of liberal-sounding causes.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Could Donald Trump defeat Kirsten Gillibrand in the 2020 election?

But this kind of wriggling, wormy approach to the truth is nothing new — Democrats are known to be hypocrites, which is one reason millions of Americans voted Donald Trump into the White House in 2016.

While Trump isn’t perfect, we know where he stands. We’re usually not surprised by Trump’s agenda because he laid it out for us in 2015.

By contrast, you never know when Democrats are going to suddenly flip-flop or support blatantly hypocritical positions.

But I should add that this doesn’t apply to all Democrats. Some Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are open about their crazy plans, but that’s not necessarily any better.

Trump will likely do well in 2020 because he’ll eviscerate Democrats like Gillibrand for their hypocrisy, inconsistency, and ridiculous socialist policies.
