Watch: Huckabee Puts Trump's 'Santa Scandal' into Perspective with Hilarious Comment
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee slammed the establishment media after the bizarre coverage of President Donald Trump’s comments about Santa to a 7-year-old.
On the day before Christmas, Trump asked a young girl if she still believed in Santa Claus.
Trump and first lady Melania Trump took questions from children over the phone about Santa’s movements, which are tracked annually by the North American Aerospace Defense Command.
“Are you still a believer in Santa?” Trump asked one young girl over the phone. “Because at 7 it’s marginal, right?”

Those are the comments that triggered the establishment media, which attacked Trump for bringing up “difficult conversations” about Santa for parents.
“And as far as parenting tips on how to initiate what could be difficult conversations with children about Santa, the Tooth Fairy or the Easter Bunny, there’s little evidence that they should be introduced by the president,” NPR wrote.
In reality, skepticism of Santa was a common trope in Christmas movies long before Trump ever entered the Oval Office.
Thankfully, sane people like Huckabee defended Trump from the media’s ridiculous attack.
“What is wrong with people?” Huckabee asked on “Fox & Friends” Wednesday morning. “It wasn’t like he was boiling the little girl’s bunny rabbit in a pot on the stove or something.”
Trump will never find a way to make some of the establishment media happy, Huckabee predicted.
And he’s right. The media is obsessed with portraying Trump in a bad light, even when he does something wholesome and nonpolitical.
This isn’t the only misguided media attack on Trump that occurred over Christmas.
The media viciously attacked Trump for not visiting the troops over Christmas. Hours after the media’s attack, it was revealed that Trump actually did visit troops in Iraq.
But the Santa scandal is particularly comical. As Huckabee said, it shows that the media will find a way to attack Trump over anything.

“It doesn’t matter what he does,” Huckabee said. “If he didn’t make the call, if he didn’t talk to the little girl, they would say he was curled up in a fetal position in the White House and was unwilling to come out and talk to anybody.”
