Watch: Jordan Peterson Gives the Real Reason the Left Hates 'Baby It's Cold Outside'

Jordan Peterson, a frequent critic of political correctness, perfectly explained the real reason behind the outrage over the Christmas classic “Baby It’s Cold Outside.”

Throughout 2018, liberals made it their mission to dismantle nearly every tradition and vestige of the past in the name of political correctness.

In particular, the left escalated its war on Christmas by targeting Holiday classics like “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and, of course, “Baby It’s Cold Outside.”

Peterson explained that the left’s issue with “Baby It’s Cold Outside” is centered around their skewed outlook on seduction.

“First of all, I think the idea that seduction can be a game played between two people, a man and a woman, generally speaking, and that both understand the rules. I think that that idea has become politically incorrect,” Peterson told Breitbart News.

Peterson went on to say that liberals want “affirmative consent” at every stage of physical interaction.

His analysis seems to be correct — much of the left’s outrage over “politically incorrect” media throughout 2018 has focused on the idea of “consent.”

For example, the left went after “Snow White” because Prince Charming didn’t ask for her consent before saving her life with a kiss.

Liberals at Princeton University successfully censored a musical performance of “The Little Mermaid” because a male volunteer from the audience was urged to kiss a female volunteer, which typically resulted in a harmless peck on the cheek.

Do liberals enjoy creating useless controversy?

Peterson also offered a secondary reason for the left’s outrage over the classic song.

“And it gives activists who don’t have anything better to do something additionally useless to complain about and be annoying,” Peterson said.

If there’s one thing that liberal activists are good at, it’s being annoying over made-up issues.

Peterson did point out a silver lining to the controversy.

“One of the funny things is that I believe sales of the song have spiked through the roof, so I think that’s quite comical,” Peterson said.
