Watch: NY Liberals Can't Tell the Difference Between Democrats and Communists

Share

Talk about embarrassing.

It’s no secret that the Democrat Party has been lurching leftward. After the Clinton White House of the 1990s, when Bill and Hillary kept a veneer of “third way” Democrat policies to gull the American electorate into thinking Democrats were sane, the party started dropping even the disguise of being a political organization that believed in American values.

With the coming of the openly leftist “community organizer” Barack Obama to its leadership, though, things got worse.

The Democrat Party became more openly hostile to the American way and more easily identified with the kind of socialist goals that created the living hell of Soviet bloc Europe for generations – as well as outright murdered millions of human beings in gulags and “great leaps forward.”

Former Democrat National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schulz embarrassed herself on MSNBC (of all places) by being unable to tell the difference between socialism and communism back in 2015.

Just last year, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz embarrassed the country’s best-known socialist, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, by getting Sanders to admit he can’t tell the difference between socialists and Democrats.

Now, a new video is making the rounds on the internet to show how liberal New Yorkers can’t tell the difference between the Democrat Party and the Communist Manifesto, the Bible of leftist revolutionaries the world over.

PragerU, the nonprofit organization founded by conservative talk show host Dennis Prager, took to the streets of the Big Apple to give presumably enlightened hipsters a series of quotations and ask if they could identify the source of the words – the Democrat Party platform or Karl Marx’s masterwork.

Turns out, they had real problems doing it. And there’s a good reason for that.

Check out the video here:

The problem these New Yorkers had – and the problem Democrats are going to face as the years go by and the one-off popularity of Barack Obama fades into memory – is that there is functionally no difference between the modern Democrat Party and the socialist parties of Europe.

On issues ranging from the country’s military strength to the role of organized labor and national tax policies, the 21st Century Democrat Party is as different from the party of the mid-20th Century as it is from Republicans.

Do you think there's a difference between Democrats and Communists?
Democrats like to the criticize Republicans by saying Ronald Reagan couldn’t win a Republican primary in today’s GOP. That’s not true, but it’s also irrelevant.

More importantly, the Democrats’ glam idol of the 20th Century, John F. Kennedy, definitely couldn’t win a Democrat Party primary today. In fact, he wouldn’t even try.

If the John F. Kennedy of the 1959-60 presidential race were running for president today, he’d be a Republican.

Because for all his faults – and they were legion – Kennedy knew the difference between American values and the Communist Party.

So did most of his fellow Democrats who were fighting the Cold War against communism.

Because there was a war against communism back then.

Unfortunately for the Democrat Party – and the United States as a whole – as this video shows, there really isn’t one today.
