Watch: World's Most Popular YouTuber Tears Apart Establishment Media

Share

There is a concerted effort among a segment of the ideological left to censor and silence any and all voices that dissent or merely stray from the preferred narratives of the left, a tactic most often seen in use against conservative speakers and media outlets.

But the Orwellian arbiters of “truth” on the left apparently aren’t satisfied to simply go target, smear and harass actual outspoken conservatives. They have actually expanded their despicable schemes to go after decidedly non-ideological and nonpartisan people with large followings in an attempt to silence them as well by linking them to the current boogeymen of the day: Anti-Semitic, racist, Nazi white supremacists.

The latest target the left is attempting to silence through disparaging smears linking him to Nazis and white supremacists is the most popular personality on YouTube, PewDiePie, who has a following of 77 million subscribers and growing and is best known for his commentary on video games, anime cartoons and the plethora of stupid things found on the internet.

PewDiePie recently came under a seemingly coordinated attack by a number of left-wing media outlets, such as Vox, The Verge and Huffington Post, to name a few, which stretched very far in an effort to link the popular YouTuber with the worst kinds of people in a bid to ruin his reputation and decrease his massive following.

In a lengthy video response, PewDiePie ran through the headlines of the hit pieces and looked at the reasoning those articles had laid out to support the accusations that he was an anti-Semitic, bigoted Nazi and racist white supremacist connected to the dastardly “alt-right.”

A prime piece of the “evidence” was that he had given a “shout out” — one of more than two dozen similar “shout outs” for others as well — to another YouTuber named “E;R” that had done reviews on anime cartoons.

Little did PewDiePie know, that YouTuber had made previous unrelated videos some time ago which contained edgy jokes about Nazis and Nazi imagery.

Once PewDiePie learned of that, he apologized for the shout out and edited it out of his own video, which should have been the end of it. Right? Wrong. The attacks from the left on social media actually intensified after that, and soon gave rise to new avenues of attack from the media over virtually the same thing.

PewDiePie was soon linked to the deadly Charlottesville protest by virtue of his linking to one of E;R’s videos that made an obscure joke about the woman who’d been run over and killed by a white supremacist protester in a car.

That purported link to Charlottesville — as well as other things like a review of Jordan Peterson’s book, or certain people he followed on Twitter — were seized on as “proof” that he was part of the “alt-right.” That led to PewDiePie hilariously suggesting, “So what if I followed Vox? Does that mean Vox is alt-right? Can’t wait to see your response to this, Vox. I basically have you in a corner now. Hahaha”

The Vox author attacking him also cited, as “proof” of how bad he is, the fact that he had once played in a public online game with another player that used an anti-Semitic slur for a name and avatar. Seriously. PewDiePie noted that all of the “evidence” against him was mere guilt by association and a real stretch.

Are you tired of the leftist media attempting to discredit and silence others with influence and a following?

He spent a few moments toward the end explaining his view of the coordinated attack against him, noting that media outlets like Vox had shrinking audiences and advertising revenue, much of that lost to platforms like Facebook and Google, which owns YouTube. He suspected the attack on him was a surreptitious effort to weaken YouTube and Google.

PewDiePie made clear that he was none of the things he was accused of being, and said, “By running these articles about me, smearing my name and calling me white supremacist, calling me racist, you are watering down the definition of these words. By keep calling me all these things, these words will no longer carry the same meaning, and in a way you are doing these people — who are actually racist and anti-Semitic — a favor.”

He also noted that the general public saw right through these sorts of attacks, and that in the end, the media outlets were actually harming their own credibility by continuing to essentially cry “wolf!” at every supposedly racist and anti-Semitic thing.

This guy hit the nail on the head in describing the absurd attacks against him from the leftist media and how those attacks had utterly failed and only served to destroy the media’s credibility. Unfortunately, it is highly doubtful they’ll take note of his response, and will continue to disparage and smear anyone with an influential platform and large following that doesn’t toe their leftist line.
