Anti-cop liberal grievance mongers have been screaming foul ever since police officers in Madison, Wisconsin, forcefully arrested an 18-year-old female thug, but new video evidence from the scene suggested that the cops did the right thing.
Specifically, it showed them tackling thug Genele Laird to the ground for resisting arrest and subsequently using a stun gun on her after she first refused to put her hands behind her back and then later spit in one of the officer’s faces.
“I will bite you!” the out-of-control woman also screamed during the encounter. “I will f***ing bite you!”
Watch the altercation below, though we must warn you that it is quite graphic:
According to KIAH, Laird had earlier showed up at the Taco Bell in the food court of a Madison shopping mall to retrieve a stolen cellphone. While there, she started making threats.
“She even indicated that she had a knife and that she was willing to stab someone,” Madison Police Chief Mike Koval said last week. “And there was a flash of that knife.”
Someone dialed 911, and when authorities tried to confront Laird about the threat, she refused to comply and repeatedly tried to leave the scene.
Officers then attempted to take her into custody, and the above video showed exactly what happened when they did.
The Wisconsin State Journal reported that the young woman was subsequently referred to an alternative restorative justice program. She also reportedly took responsibility for the altercation and admitted “that it was her conduct toward fellow community members, including officers involved, that caused this incident.”
This seems like an open and close case, does it not? Yet Madison Mayor Paul Soglin has called for a review of the police’s arrest tactics, while local black community leaders have been staging protests on Laird’s behalf.
We are not sure what is going to happen from here on out, but our fingers are crossed for Madison’s police officers, since the mayor and community leaders apparently have no idea what’s going on.
