Whiny Leftists Call for Boycott of an Entire State over Kavanaugh Confirmation

Share

Many of those on the left aren’t taking the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh very well. One of their coping mechanisms is to boycott an entire state.

Kavanaugh was confirmed on a narrow 50-48 vote Saturday and sworn in as an associate justice.

One of the Republicans considered a swing vote, Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, voted in favor of Kavanaugh. Now her entire state is being boycotted by whiny liberals.

Actor and comedian John Fugelsang helped bring visibility to the Maine boycott in a since-deleted tweet, according to WCSH-TV in Portland.

“Dear Susan Collins – I really struggled with this but my tourist $ just voted against ever visiting Maine while you remain in office,” Fugelsang wrote.

Some of his followers on Twitter said they would join him in avoiding the Pine Tree state because of Collins’ vote.

Others followed suit, including a Florida woman who wrote in a barely decipherable tweet that she no longer will travel to Maine and contribute to its economy.

Someone reminded her that she lives in a state with a Republican senator, Marco Rubio, who voted for Kavanaugh.

Others directed their temper tantrums at companies and products produced in Maine.

One self-identified vegan went so far as to throw away his coveted moose magnet!

At least he was honest when he tweeted, “Hey Susan Collins, I know you couldn’t care less.”

Are you now more likely to vacation in Maine?

In fact, nobody cares. It seems like more people are laughing at this ridiculous boycott than joining in.

However, the anti-Maine hissy fit does show us something important about the left.

You don’t see angry leftists boycotting deep-red states. Instead, they target those who seem most susceptible to their influence, like a moderate senator in a relatively blue state.

If the left were consistent, we’d also see boycotts of Texas, Georgia, Florida and Nevada.

Would the left be willing to give up Las Vegas in a boycott? Probably not.

They are sore losers who will lash out at the easiest target.
