Woman Claims To Be Victimized by Man in MAGA Hat, But Video Tells a Very Different Story

Share

Four simple words seem to be triggering liberals everywhere, and those words are “Make America Great Again.”

That catch phrase of course helped launched Donald Trump to the presidency, and countless supporters have taken to wearing the famous red “MAGA” hats as a sign of solidarity. Whether it’s “I Like Ike” or “Yes We Can,” political slogans are hardly new in America, but tensions over them seem to be escalating.

The latest example of a leftist becoming mega-unhinged over a “MAGA” hat just took place in Massachusetts. According to WFXT News in Boston, a woman was recently arrested after assaulting a man for — brace yourselves — wearing a Trump hat in a restaurant.

“A woman on Cape Cod is facing charges for assaulting a man wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat,” that station reported. “Rosiane Santos, 41, of Falmouth was charged with disorderly conduct and assault and battery.”

The man wearing the red hat was Bryton Turner, who apparently was simply minding his own business and ordering food when Santos began harassing him. She caused a scene while declaring that the patron shouldn’t be allowed in the restaurant because the cuisine is Mexican.

Turner, however, kept calm and quickly began recording the incident on his cell phone.

“Santos started yelling at him because of his hat, which bears the theme that President Donald Trump campaigned on,” WFXT explained. “The woman is seen walking behind him and hitting his hat off his head.”

Reporters asked a witness and employee of the Mexican restaurant if the man had provoked Santos, possibly by making political comments. “No, no he just walked in and ordered his food,” bartender Geo Macarao told the station.

Do you believe an arrest was the right outcome in this incident?

Incredibly, the irate woman continued to harass Turner even after police arrived. The bartender who saw the incident unfold told WFXT that Santos tried to swipe at the Trump supporter even as she was being escorted out of the establishment.

“I couldn’t imagine somebody just coming up and hitting them when there’s cops right here,” Macarao said.

“She just tried to grab my hat in front of four officers, not smart,” Turner himself confirmed.

Although Santos is the one who ended up in handcuffs, she still couldn’t help playing the victim. When the Boston news station reached out to her for a comment, she claimed the man in the hat was to blame but offered no evidence for this.

“(B)eing discriminated for so many times in my life, I just had to stand up for myself,” she said. “He’s not a victim. I am the victim. I have been bullied, OK?”

But neither the video evidence nor witness recollections seem to back that up.

It’s worth pointing out that Santos isn’t Mexican or even Hispanic. She’s apparently an immigrant from Brazil, the Portuguese-speaking country some 3,000 miles and a continent away from the nearest U.S. border.

At a time when people’s lives are literally being threatened over political hats and hate crime hoaxes are making national news, the man in this situation did a very good job of keeping a cool head and pressing “record” on his phone.

Tensions are no doubt only going to increase as the 2020 election draws nearer, but facts and reason will always prevail.
