Woman Who Sells Drugs for Dogs Furious After Seeing Little Girl Sell Water to Thirsty Customers

Share

The CEO of a company that makes cannabis products for dogs is now under fire after a video posted to Twitter shows her calling the police on a young African-American girl who was selling water from a bottle on her cousin’s property in the San Francisco area.

Check your URL bar. This isn’t The Onion. This really happened.

According to The Hill, Alison Ettel — the woman in the video — is the head of Treatwell Tinctures, which makes cannabis tinctures for your pet, because apparently Fido needs to be high-do. You would think someone whose job description reads like that would be slightly more chill and/or understanding about entrepreneurship, but nope.

The viral video, uploaded by Twitter user @_ethopiangold, shows the woman who would soon become known as “Permit Patty” calling 911 because an 8-year-old girl was selling water outside a San Francisco Giants game at AT&T Park.

“So my little cousin was selling water and didn’t have a permit so this lady decided to call the cops on an 8 year old. #PermitPatty,” the post read.

“This woman don’t wanna let a little girl sell some water,” the cousin can be heard saying in the video. “She’s calling the police on an 8-year-old little girl.”

Ettel ducked behind a wall to continue the call, but the cousin followed.

“The world’s gonna see you, boo,” she said.

Do you think this woman was out of line?

Ettel then decided to try and defend herself.

“Yeah, and illegally selling water without a permit,” Ettel tells the cousin.

“On my property,” she says.

“It’s not your property,” Ettel responded.

Oh, well, thanks for informing us. Glad you have the deed information. As for Ettel, she claims that the girl was disturbing her work so she pretended to make a 911 call to get her to stop. This is apparently what passes as logic in California, which explains a lot.

It kind of worked, but not in the way she planned. Thanks to Magnolia Wellness, one of the larger marijuana dispensaries in the Bay Area, it seems like Ettel will have a bit less work on her hands.

“As of today, Magnolia will no longer be carrying Treatwell Tinctures,” they said in a statement. “After seeing this video of their CEO, calling the police on an 8-year-old entrepreneur selling water on a hot day, we decided without hesitation that we could no longer patronize her company.”

As for the girl, she’s doing fine.

I don’t know what this woman was thinking. Aside from the basic asininity of calling the police on a water stand — heck, it’s not even lemonade stands that nanny-staters want busted now — how did she think this would look? A grown white woman saying she’s calling 911 on a young African-American girl trying to make a few dollars?

As for the girl, keep up the good capitalist work. If I’m ever in the neighborhood for a Giants game, I know where I’m getting my water — permit be damned.
