Worse: Avenatti Will Sweat Bullets over New Stormy Statement

Share

In shocking reports Monday morning, it was revealed that disgraced anti-Trump attorney Michael Avenatti had been arrested and charged with multiple felony crimes in two separate cases in Los Angeles and New York City.

In Los Angeles, Avenatti has been charged with felony bank fraud and wire fraud that stem from his embezzlement of client funds in order to pay for his own debt and expenses, as well as using fraudulent tax returns to obtain millions of dollars in loans from a bank.

In New York City, the sleazy lawyer was also arrested and charged with multiple felonies in an attempted extortion of tens of millions of dollars from athletic apparel and equipment retailer Nike.

Those arrests prompted a sharp statement from Avenatti’s arguably most famous former client and ex-porn star, Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford. An accuser of President Donald Trump, she hinted that there was more bad news to come for Avenatti.

Daniels posted to Twitter a brief statement that read: “Knowing what I know now about Michael Avenatti, I am saddened but not shocked by news reports that he has been criminally charged today.

“I made the decision more than a month ago to terminate Michael’s services after discovering that he had dealt with me extremely dishonestly and there will be more announcements to come,” she continued.

“I ask that the media respect my decision to withhold further public comment regarding Mr. Avenatti at this time.”

The porn star-turned-stripper cut ties with Avenatti a few months after revealing that he had made significant moves in her case against Trump without her knowledge or permission.

While it obviously remains unclear at this time what sort of “announcements” Daniels may have in store with regard to Avenatti and his “extreme dishonesty,” that damning threat plus the federal felony charges issued against him today are nothing short of devastating.

Are you glad Stormy Daniels has turned against her former attorney?

Of course, it is likely that whatever Daniels shares about Avenatti will pale in comparison to the severe federal trouble he is already in, there is no doubt that any additional weight will be too much for him to bear, particularly coming from the client who helped him gain the celebrity status he has exploited.

Consider for a moment that there was once a point in mid-2018 when there was discussion among Democrats pertaining to a potential 2020 run by Avenatti to challenge President Trump for the White House.

That absurd talk stemmed from the manner in which the left and media had heralded the sleazy attorney as a savior who would take down Trump, in light of his representing Daniels in a lawsuit to extricate her from a non-disclosure agreement preventing her from sharing details of an alleged affair she’d had with Trump more than a decade ago.

Unfortunately for Avenatti, his tenure as a shining star on the left was short-lived, as his effort to smear then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in September and October 2018 with over-the-top allegations of his being a gang rape ringleader succeeded only in undermining Democrats’ broader attacks on Kavanaugh.

That insanity was quickly followed by a string of legal defeats for Avenatti, ranging from the Daniels case — she was ultimately ordered to pay Trump’s legal fees — to judgments issued against him in other matters, as well as an eviction from his rented office in California.

Needless to say, Avenatti is a disgusting character, and most Americans would prefer to see him slither back under the rock from whence he came — after he serves time in federal prison for his alleged crimes, that is.
