The last few months things have been a little heated between presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and former Mexican President Vicente Fox.
Fox did not take kindly to Trump’s remarks about having Mexico pay for the border wall he wants to build. “I will not pay for that f—— wall,” he said. He then went on to call the real estate tycoon “ignorant,” “crazy,” “egocentric,” “nasty” and a “false prophet.” Fox then looked at the camera and pleaded for America to wake up from this nightmare.
Apparently, that’s all water under the bridge now. In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News on Wednesday, the former Mexican president apologized. “I apologize. Forgiveness is one of the greatest qualities that human beings have, is the quality of a compassionate leader. You have to be humble. You have to be compassionate. You have to love thy neighbor,” Fox said.

He concluded the interview stating that Trump should come to Mexico and see what it’s all about. Fox also commented on the importance of trade relationships and how he might be able to persuade Trump to “think intelligently” about the issue.
Speaking to over 12,000 people in Charleston, W.Va., Thursday night, Trump got wind of the apology and had a few comments himself:
“Vicente Fox was on television last night and he apologized and I accept his apology. I thought it was very, very nice, because I was giving him a little hard time about something and he apologized,” he said.
However, Trump stood strong on his idea of constructing a wall on the nation’s southern border: “We’re going to have a great relationship with Mexico, but we need a border.”
