Duke star Grayson Allen embroiled in another media frenzy over alleged kick

Here we go again …

When you have a history like Duke’s Grayson Allen, it’s not easy to get the benefit of the doubt.

With that as a backdrop, we present “Kickgate, Part Three — at least.”

The fiesty guard is in the headlines again after what could be construed as another kicking incident on the court Monday night against Virginia Tech.

It is hard to judge intent, but there’s no question that Allen’s leg does make contact with Hokies guard Justin Robinson.

For another player, it might just be thought of as incidental contact, but Allen’s reputation makes him anything but another player.

Last season, the senior was involved in a few incidents and suspended for this trip/kick against Elon:

Do you think this was an intentional move by Allen?

It just seems wherever there’s trouble, Allen is in the middle of it.

This season, Allen has been on his best behavior, averaging 15.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for the Blue Devils.

He was whistled for a foul on the play against Virginia Tech, but not a flagrant.

The play, did, however seem to fire up the Tech fans.

It may have worked.

Allen shot 6-18, finishing with a misleading 22 points, and Virginia Tech pulled off a 64-63 upset.

It will be interesting to see if Allen hears from the ACC for this one.
