Eagles player tasered and arrested near team facility - report
Newly acquired Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Daryl Worley was reportedly tased and arrested early Sunday morning.
The arrest occurred around 6 a.m. local time, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The details surrounding the arrest don’t paint a picture of a calm or peaceful arrest, either.
Worley reportedly became belligerent with police, who found him passed out in a vehicle that blocked a highway, per Rapoport. Once Worley became combative, Philadelphia police officers had to resort to using a taser on him.
A gun was also reportedly found at the scene.
“We are in the process of gathering more information about Daryl Worley’s arrest this morning,” the Eagles said in a statement following the incident.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Worley has had issues with the law. He pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor assault charge during his time in college at West Virginia.
Worley, 23, was drafted in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft by the Carolina Panthers.
The Eagles acquired Worley from the Panthers in exchange for veteran receiver Torrey Smith this offseason.
For Worley, his latest arrest could have a big impact on his career. Though he worked his way to starting 14 games for the Panthers last season, Carolina still ultimately traded him away for an aging receiver.
With his new team, Worley was already going to have to compete for a starting job. Ronald Darby, Jalen Mills and Sidney Jones are all talented prospects expected to vie for a starting position, and that’s not including any potential rookies taken in the draft.
For the Eagles, it’s been a somewhat tumultuous offseason following an epic Super Bowl LII win in February.
The team has made two trades to help shore up their defense. Along with Worley, the Eagles also traded for ex-Seattle Seahawk Michael Bennett.
Neither Worley nor Bennett have taken a single snap in camp, and yet both have been arrested. Bennett was indicted on the felony charge of causing injury to the elderly stemming from an incident that occurred early last year.
It’s understandable that the Eagles would want to load up instead of standing pat after a Super Bowl win. The NFC has only gotten tougher this offseason, with the Los Angeles Rams, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers all making moves to improve their rosters. That’s to say nothing of the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints, who haven’t made too many offseason moves but are still lethal teams.
The Eagles are reportedly going to kick off next NFL season on Sept. 6 when they unveil their championship banner prior to a home game against the Minnesota Vikings.
