Just last night, I watched “Mission Impossible: Fallout” with my wife.
Without spoiling too much, the movie universe’s CIA features some bad apples who are not out to best serve the United States of America.
I wonder if any of those characters were loosely based on real-life ex-CIA director John Brennan? Because if they were, they didn’t make those movie villains nearly vile or sinister enough.
Brennan took to Twitter on New Year’s Eve to launch a despicable tirade against President Donald Trump… for reasons?
It is my sincere hope that the forthcoming exposure of your malfeasance & corruption will convince enough Republicans to abandon you in 2019. We have had enough of your whining from the White House. We need an actual leader—our Nation’s future is at stake. https://t.co/dNzRGuOFdP

“It is my sincere hope that the forthcoming exposure of your malfeasance & corruption will convince enough Republicans to abandon you in 2019,” Brennan said in a response to a Trump tweet about media bias. “We have had enough of your whining from the White House.”
Hilariously, and apparently without a hint of irony, Brennan’s Twitter bio describes himself as a “Nonpartisan American who is very concerned about our collective future.”
“We need an actual leader—our Nation’s future is at stake,” Brennan added.
The Trump tweet that Brennan was responding to was defending the president’s decision to withdraw the troops from Syria.
“I am the only person in America who could say that, ‘I’m bringing our great troops back home, with victory,’ and get BAD press,” Trump’s original tweet stated. “It is Fake News and Pundits who have FAILED for years that are doing the complaining. If I stayed in Endless Wars forever, they would still be unhappy!”
Look, let’s remove the politics of withdrawing troops from Syria and Trump out of the equation altogether. Can you imagine if Brennan had made these types of comments about literally any other American president in history?
An ex-CIA director, who is privy to far more information than the average American, accusing the standing president of “malfeasance” and “corruption” should be a much bigger story than it is. This is a former high-ranking government official grinding his ax in the most public way imaginable.
But because this is Trump we’re talking about, nobody seems eager to call out Brennan for his disgusting actions.
Even on Twitter, a good number of users lauded Brennan for speaking out in this manner. Something tells me that the reaction would’ve been decided different had Brennan made these types of comments about the president say… four years ago.
That being said, some Trump supporters hit back hard.
Why aren’t you in jail??

It is my sincere hope that the forthcoming exposure of ur malfeasance & corruption will convince a Military Tribunal to convict you of treason in 2019.
We’ve had enough of ur whining, u speak for no one. We finally have an actual leader—our Nation’s future IS at stake. #MAGA

It speaks volumes about Brennan that this is the type of response he has to a Trump tweet that has nothing to do with him and never mentions him.
