Roberta Haynes

Actress Roberta Haynes passed away on April 4, 2019, at the age of 91. Haynes was best known for her role in the 1953 film “Return to Paradise,” which co-starred Gary Cooper. She also starred in the films “The Nebraskan,” “Gun Fury” and “High Noon.”

Jim Glaser

Country music singer Jim Glaser passed away on April 6, 2019. The 81-year-old died of a heart attack. Glaser performed both as a solo artist and in the group “Tompall and the Glaser Brothers.” In 1984, he was selected by the Academy of Country Music as Best New Male Vocalist.



Nadja Regin

87-year-old actress Nadja Regin passed away on April 6, 2019. Regin appeared in two James Bond films, alongside Sean Connery, “From Russia with Love” and “Goldfinger.” The official James Bond Twitter account shared their condolences to Regin’s family and friends after news of her passing broke.

Charles Van Doren

Former 1950s quiz show contestant Charles Van Doren died at the age of 93 on April 9, 2019. Van Doren famously went on a 14-week winning streak on the show “Twenty-One,” winning $129,000. In 1956, Van Doren testified to Congress that producer’s of the NBC show gave him the answers. He pleaded guilty to perjury. In 1994, Ralph Fiennes portrayed him in the film “Quiz Show.”

Georgia Engel

Beloved “Mary Tyler Moore Show” star Georgia Engel passed away on April 12, 2019. She was 70 years old. Engel was best known for her role as Georgette Franklin on the show, which ran from 1970-1977. She was nominated for multiple Primetime Emmy awards during her expansive acting career.



Fay McKenzie

Gene Autry’s leading lady, Fay McKenzie, passed away on April 16, 2019, at the age of 101. McKenzie began her acting career as a silent film star at only 10 weeks old. She starred alongside Autry in “Down Mexico Way,” “Sierra Sue,” “Home in Wyomin’,” “Heart of the Rio Grande,” and “Cowboy Serenade.”



Ken Kercheval

Actor Ken Kercheval was best known for his role as Cliff Barnes on the hit television show “Dallas.” The 83-year-old passed away of pneumonia on April 21, 2019. Kercheval was one of only two characters who remained on “Dallas” for the show’s entirety. He even reprised his role in the 2012 revival of the show.

Anne Neyland

On April 24, 2019, Actress Anne Neyland passed away at the age of 84. She is best known for her starring role alongside Elvis Presley in “Jailhouse Rock.” Neyland reportedly dated Presley during filming and for a short stint after. Neyland also appeared in the films “Hidden Fear” and “Motorcycle Gang.”

Troy Dean Shafer

Reality television star Troy Dean Shafer passed away on April 28, 2019. He was only 38 years old. Shafer was known for his hit series “Nashville Flipped” on the DIY Network. The network expressed their condolences in a public statement, referring to Shafer as a “dedicated, driven entrepreneur and restoration expert” that was admired by everyone he worked with on the show.

John Singleton

Oscar-nominated director John Singleton passed away on April 28, 2019, after suffering a stroke at the age of 51. Singleton was the first African-American director to earn an Oscar nomination for best director in 1991 for his film “Boyz n the Hood.”

Peter Mayhew

The iconic actor who played Chewbacca in the “Star Wars” films, Peter Mayhew, passed away at the age of 74 on April 30, 2019. The 7 feet 3 inches tall actor portrayed “Chewy” in the original trilogy and “fought his way back” after being wheel-chair bound to reprise his role in the 2015 film, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
