'You're F***ed': Former Hillary Aide Attacks Trump, Issues Veiled Threat of 'Judgment'

Share

As Election Day has drawn near, a sense of desperation has descended upon some on both sides of the ideological divide, as Republicans are desperate to maintain control of Congress and Democrats are even more desperate to wrest that political control away for themselves.

However, the desperation among Republicans has been tempered somewhat by late-breaking polls moving in their direction and a sense of calm and confidence provided by the incredible show of support among supporters of President Donald Trump as he conducted a whirlwind tour of campaign rallies in crucial states in the final days before the midterms.

Conversely, the desperation among Democrats has grown over that same time as their once-massive lead in generic polling has all but diminished, early voting reports appear to favor Republicans, and, again, Trump’s supporters appear to be turning out in droves to ensure that his party remains in the majority in Congress.

Though he would likely deny that he was desperate if asked directly, the sense of desperation among liberals was embodied in a vicious and explicit tweet attacking the president that was posted on Monday by a former top aide for failed Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton, Philippe Reines.

Undoubtedly in response to Trump’s series of rallies — during which he routinely criticized Clinton and her old boss, former President Barack Obama — Reines tweeted at Trump, “It’s not you vs Obama. It’s not you vs Hillary. It’s you and your accidental two years vs America’s first 240 years.”

“It’s the first time since Nov 8 2016 the entire nation will render judgement on you. You’re f***ed,” he added. (Note: The actual tweet contains the obscenity written in full.)

It remains to be seen how the midterms will come out.

As to Reines not-so-subtle threat that the “nation will render judgement on you,” that pretty much already happened in 2016, but Reines and his comrades refused to accept that judgement. Will they similarly refuse to accept the nation’s judgement this year if it doesn’t go as they’d hoped?

Are you tired of the constant hatred and threats against Trump from the left?

Perhaps not to be outdone by her former chief aide, Hillary Clinton herself took to Twitter on Election Day with a tweet thread meant to encourage Democrat voters that nevertheless reeked of anti-Trump desperation as well.

Clinton tweeted, “For the past two years, we’ve watched this administration attack and undermine our democratic institutions and values. Today, we say enough.”

“But we won’t just vote against radicalism, bigotry, and corruption today,” she continued. “We’ll vote for fantastic candidates all over the country — including a historic number of women — who want to raise wages, fight for justice, and help more people get health care.”

“If they win, they’ll do great things for America. Let’s exercise our birthright as Americans today, put those people in office, and continue the hard work of saving our democracy. It’ll take all of us. Happy Election Day,” she added in a third tweet.

Meanwhile, the president was also busy on social media on Election Day as well, tweeting and re-tweeting a number of his endorsements for key House and Senate races, while also sharing pictures and videos from his most recent packed rallies in a general push for his supporters to get out and vote for Republicans.

As noted, Trump has a rather calm and confident feel about him, as if he instinctively knows that his party will do better than expected over his hateful and obstructionist opposition. Given historical trends and the current situation, it will be considered a “win” for him if the GOP holds the Senate and only loses the House.

A significant portion of the American voting population has grown tired of the hateful and violent rhetoric from the left against Trump, and now the only thing left for the nation to discover is if those Americans weary of the attacks on Trump and his supporters outnumber the Trump-hating Americans who’d rather destroy the booming economy and cripple Trump’s administration with spiteful and baseless investigations.

We’ll find out after all the votes are cast and counted.
