Former Clinton Spokesman Rightly Mocked After Posting Bizarre Climate Change Photo from a Movie
There are some on the left who have become so devoted to the notion of man-made global warming, er, climate change, um, I mean “extreme weather,” that they have seemingly lost touch with reality and are instead living in some sort of fantastical world, as evidenced in a recent tweet from a former spokesman for failed Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
Jesse Ferguson, who previously served as the deputy national press secretary and senior spokesman for Clinton, took to Twitter on Thursday to weigh in on the brutally cold weather across much of the nation that was the result of an extreme weather condition known as the “polar vortex.”
In his tweet, Ferguson absurdly compared an aerial photo of the ice-covered and snowy Chicago area with a picture from the climate change-focused movie “The Day After Tomorrow.”
Ferguson wrote, “Picture on left was taken yesterday in Chicago. Picture on the right is from the movie “The Day After Tomorrow” — about global climate change. Just leaving this here.”

To say that many denizens of the Twitter-sphere savagely mocked Ferguson over his ridiculous comparison of a real weather event to a ludicrously fictionalized portrayal of climate change would be a massive understatement. (And the movie itself is laughably stupid, as the “climate” changes with an impossible speed and ferocity.”)
In fact, many of those mocking Ferguson simply flipped what he had done right back at him, comparing the picture of an icy Chicago with other fictional wintery scenes to highlight just how bizarre Ferguson’s tweet had been.
A conservative satirist named Hale tweeted, “Picture on the left was taken this week in Chicago. Picture on the right is from the harrowing documentary ‘Frozen’ about the menacing curse of climate change.”

Conservative pundit Stephen Miller had a lot of fun mocking Ferguson, and posted numerous comparison tweets, including one that read, “Picture on left was taken yesterday in Chicago. Picture on the right is from the movie ‘Fargo’ — about global climate change. Just leaving this here.”

One Twitter user broke through the jokes with a realistic comparison that was nevertheless quite humorous, as it underscored the absurdity of Ferguson’s breathless alarmism.
That tweet read, “The picture on the left was taken in January, 2019. The picture on the right was taken in 2013. They both show portions of Lake Michigan frozen over…which is what Lake Michigan does….in winter.”

Another user from the conservative side of the Twitterverse tweeted, “Picture on left was taken yesterday in Chicago. Picture on the right is from the movie ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ — about global climate change. Just leaving this here.”

There were so many hilarious responses to Ferguson’s tweet that it was difficult to choose just a few to include here.
Others referenced snowy scenes from the hit HBO series “Game of Thrones,” movies like “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe,” “The Grinch,” “Elf” and “Superman,” not to mention Coors Light beer commercials and even Jack Nicholson’s frozen character at the end of “The Shining.”
