Speaking to Jorge Ramos of Fusion, Clooney affirmed his support for the former first lady. “Whatever she wants, whatever way I can help. I think that she’s a tremendous candidate,” Clooney said. “I think that I would be very happy if she were president.”
Ramos asked the former ER star about a statement he made in 2008 where he called Clinton a “polarizing figure.”

I felt that there were as many people that would show up to vote against her because she was Hillary and for whatever reasons they’d been designed in that for quite sometime.
“There have been a lot of pieces brought up that were just brought up because they knew she was going to run for president,” Clooney continued. “And you know, ‘Benghazi is this great scandal,’ well it’s not. So I find that she is now… ready to be president. I think she could’ve been a wonderful president before.”
Clooney backed President Obama in 2008 and 2012. “You’ve been in a room once in a while with a rock star. He walks into the world, and he takes your breath away. I’d love him to be president, quite honestly,” Clooney said of then Sen. Obama in 2007, according to The Washington Post.
