Godless Democrats Brazenly Removing 'God' from Committee Oaths
In their continued war on Christianity, House Democrats are planning to remove the phrase “so help me God” from an oath taken by witnesses who testify before a key committee.
The House Committee on Natural Resources requires witnesses to take an oath before they testify before the panel.
The traditional oath is: “Do you solemnly swear or affirm, that the testimony that you are about to give is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?”
As Fox News reported Tuesday, Democrats, led by the committee’s radically liberal Chairman Rep. Raúl Grijalva of Arizona, want to erase “God” from the oath.
Instead, the new oath would add the phrase “under penalty of law,” according to a draft of the committee’s updated rules.
The draft also includes a slew of changes to account for the left’s politically correct standards.
The committee is planning to remove phrases like “his or her” with gender-neutral (and grammatically incorrect) alternatives like “their.”
Unfortunately, the draft has a good chance of passing because there are currently four more Democrats on the committee than Republicans.
But that doesn’t mean Republicans aren’t concerned about the left’s attempts to erase God.
House Republican Conference Chairwoman Liz Cheney told Fox News that the Democratic Party has “become the party of Karl Marx.”
“It is incredible, but not surprising, that the Democrats would try to remove God from committee proceedings in one of their first acts in the majority,” Cheney said. “They really have become the party of Karl Marx.”
Communist groups throughout history have been known to target Christians and attempt to replace God with the state.
It’s not even a stretch to say that Democrats have been taking plays out of Stalin’s playbook.
As an additional example, Democrats have been resisting the appointment of Omaha attorney Brian Buescher to the U.S. District Court in Nebraska because of his religious views since November.
Democrats in the Senate Judiciary Committee grilled Buescher earlier this month for being a member of Knights of Columbus, a charitable Catholic fraternal organization.
“If confirmed, do you intend to end your membership with this organization to avoid any appearance of bias?” Democratic Sen. Mazie Hirono of Hawaii pointedly asked.
“Were you aware that the Knights of Columbus opposed a woman’s right to choose when you joined the organization?” Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris of California asked.
Considering the left’s disdain for Christianity, it’s not surprising that liberals support barbaric and evil policies like abortion.
Conservatives have long warned that Democrats would eventually try to erase God and it’s obvious that they were right.
Democrats are literally erasing God from legal texts.
