Hidden 'Tom Brady' document spotted at Pats press conference triggers conspiracy theories

Share

Just in case you weren’t convinced of the New England Patriots conspiracies yet, there’s a new one swirling about that will really make your head spin.

The NFL MVP award is one of the most prestigious honors the league gives out every year.

The award is not to be announced until Saturday night.

However, someone at the Patriots media day appears to have spilled the beans on the winner.

A picture taken by a reporter for the Grand Forks Herald shows a man holding a document with what appear to be the words, “Brady Acceptance Speech.”

If Brady wins, he will have beaten out Rams running back Todd Gurley and Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz, both of whom can make a strong case for the award.

Now there’s no way to know for sure if the document means Brady will be named NFL MVP, but it is suspicious that someone would be carrying a copy of an “acceptance” speech to a press conference.

Do you think Tom Brady deserves the NFL MVP award?

Some fans thought it was evidence of a conspiracy.

If Brady does win the award, it isn’t without merit, as the 40-year-old quarterback has led the Patriots to a 13-3 record while finishing first in the league in passing yards (4,577) and third in touchdown passes (32).

Brady, who has won the MVP twice in his 18-year-career, would join elite company if he were to win his thirrd trophy, joining NFL legends such as Jim Brown, Johnny Unitas, Brett Favre and Peyton Manning.

Manning is the only player with more than three, having won the award five times in his career.

The awards ceremony is set to be held Saturday night at the Cyrus Northrop Memorial Auditorium at the University of Minnesota.

The event will be hosted by Hollywood movie star Rob Riggle.

Coverage will begin at 8 p.m. ET on NFL Network.

According to NFL.com, the votes appear to be tight between Brady and Gurley.

Gurley racked up 13 touchdowns this season with 1,305 rushing yards on 279 attempts.
