Hockey move gets Timberwolves player ejected from heated game

Share

Hard fouls … ejections … tweets and threats …

It was just another exciting night of NBA basketball Friday night in Utah, where the Jazz knocked off the Minnesota Timberwolves by a final score of 116-108.

The game itself was unremarkable until late in the fourth quarter, when Minnesota guard Jeff Teague got a little physical with Utah’s Ricky Rubio. Teague appeared to hip-check the Jazz point guard.

That led to the predictable pushing and shoving.

While at home recovering from knee surgery, Minnesota All-Star Jimmy Butler chimed in on Twitter.

It was not a particularly surprising post, given that Butler has previously been critical of his young team not always playing hard enough.

Following the play itself, Teague was ejected, joining teammate Karl-Anthony Towns, who was tossed earlier for arguing a foul call.

Do you think it was a dirty play by Teague?

Meanwhile, Timberwolves coach Tom Thibodeau got into a heated argument with Jazz forward Jae Crowder. Thibodeau and Crowder were issued a double technical, as reported by ESPN, and Crowder was later ejected when he got called for a second technical foul in the game’s final seconds.

Responding to Crowder and Thibodeau’s argument, Butler called out Crowder, his former college teammate at Marquette.

Crowder didn’t seem pleased.
