Huckabee Fires Off After Protesters Interrupt Hearing: 'Start Caning Them'

Share

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is no stranger to telling it like it is.

But after seeing what was happening during the first day of confirmation hearings for Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh, he really fired off, suggesting some of the protesters deserved to be caned.

The “rude loons” Huckabee referred to were the protesters whose presence has been a constant reminder of liberal America’s anger at the Kavanaugh nomination.

While caning may not be the best solution for these “loons,” something should be done to deter major disruptions. And a major disruption is exactly what this was.

As disruptive as the protesters were, Democrats interrupted the first hour of the hearings at least 44 times.

Should Democrats be embarrassed by their behavior at Tuesday's hearing?

The Democratic members of the Senate Judiciary Committee called for the hearing to be adjourned, claiming the release of 42,000 pages of documents the night before left them with no time to prepare.

Many of the protesters’ outrage is over Kavanaugh’s conservative nature and his reverence for the Constitution. They think he will be a threat to Roe v. Wade and women’s rights.

If confirmed, Kavanaugh will be President Donald Trump’s second nominee to join the Supreme Court.

This must multiply the embarrassment for Hillary Clinton voters. Her fake and over-the-top campaign promised doom and gloom if Trump were to be voted into the Oval Office, but so far all we’ve had is record-breaking stock market increases and a safer nation.

Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch also jumped in to attack the “isolence” of the protesters.

While speaking during the hearing, he had to talk over the chants from the crowd. A frustrated Hatch finally said, “These people are so out of line they shouldn’t even be allowed in the doggone room.”

The lunacy wasn’t confined to the Senate chamber where the hearing took place. Protesters outside also did their part, dressing like characters from a television show to show the world how evil Kavanaugh is.

The costumes are from “A Handmaid’s Tale,” a recent show about a dystopian future America. Their argument is that making their particular brand of murder (abortion) illegal will cast us into a world of enslaved women and oppressed minorities.

This is what they actually believe — it’s not the plot of a “Star Trek” episode.

Clearly, some people just watch too much TV.
