Hypocrites: Size of "Mini Army" Oscars Used to Protect Stars Is Mindboggling

The hypocrisy is nauseating.

For years, leftists in Hollywood have mocked, talked down to and even demonized law-abiding American gun owners, and the National Rifle Association.

In the wake of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, the anti-gun hype from the media — and Hollywood in particular — reached a fever pitch.

The Oscar Awards were only a few short weeks after the horrible massacre, giving leftist celebrities a soapbox to lecture Americans across the country with their anti-gun, anti-Republican talking points. (Then again, it was a lot less viewers than they’d hoped — Oscar viewership hit an all time low this year.)

Academy Awards host Jimmy Kimmel started the night off, cracking jokes about Donald Trump and urging viewers and everyone in attendance to join the “March for Our Lives” gun control protest later this month.

Rapper Common took a few shots as well. “Tell the NRA they’re in God’s way and to the people of Parkland we say asé,” he rapped from the stage.

Not everyone could lecture from the stage of course, so some celebrities communicated their liberal cause through symbolic gestures. “A stylist source confirms to PEOPLE that some Oscar attendees will be donning Wear Orange to Prevent Gun Violence pins from the advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety,” according to People Magazine.

And so, as these celebrities lectured Americans about guns and strutted down the red carpet in orange — men in blue — or black in this case, were armed with guns to protect them.

Talk about a blatant double standard.

And it wasn’t just a few armed guards either.

Are you fed up with the double standard in Hollywood?
“More than 500 officers will be on hand, many of them working overtime, to ensure the safety of the 90th Academy Awards, along with firefighters, police helicopters and agents from the FBI. Private security guards from Security Industry Specialists will work the inside of the theater,” Variety reported.

The lesson here is clear — even if leftist celebrities won’t admit it — good people with guns are able to protect themselves and others from those who would do harm.

Celebrities are more than willing to apply that truth when their own safety is involved — it’d be nice if they would concede that all law-abiding Americans deserve that same right.

But then again, most Americans don’t care what they think anyway.
