Incredible Video Shows Easy Way To Smoke Salmon Right in Your Home
Salmon is one of the best sources of omega-3 fatty acids, but the fish has a variety of different health benefits.
Organic Facts listed 12 benefits of eating salmon and they include lean protein, bone and joint health, skin care, and weight loss, among other health benefits.
Growing up, my dad would cook the delicious fish on our grill after my mom had seasoned it.
Since I don’t have a grill, I’ve mastered the art of cooking salmon in the oven. But did you know that you can smoke salmon right in your home as well?
A Facebook video posted by NTD Inspired Life shows just how easy it is to smoke salmon in your kitchen without a smoker.
First, marinate the salmon with 3/4 cup sea salt, 1/2 cup brown sugar and two tablespoons pepper. Cover and let the fish marinate overnight.
The next day, rinse the salt off the salmon, pat it dry and then cut it into equal sized portions.
Place tin foil inside a small wok and add 1 1/2 cups rice, 1/2 cup brown sugar, thyme, sage and orange peels. Insert a wok steaming rack and put the salmon portions on top of it.
Let the fish smoke for 30 minutes on the stovetop while you make a side salad.
The simple side salad calls for 1 avocado, cherry tomatoes, 1 mango, juice from one lemon, olive oil, pine nuts and mozzarella cheese. Top the salad with a little bit of olive oil and salt and pepper to taste.
Once the salmon is done, place it on top of the salad and voila! A delicious, nutritious smoked salmon meal.
This recipe looks absolutely delicious and a must try for salmon lovers like myself. I have yet to try it, but the full recipe instructions can be found on the Inspired NTD website.
