James Woods Takes Twitter War to New Level, Scorches CNN 'Whore' Jim Acosta

Share

James Woods is not a fan of CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta. Not a whole lot of conservatives are, mind you. However, Woods just took things to a brand new level with a tweet scorching Acosta as a “whore.”

The incident began after a White House event Friday, where President Donald Trump expressed condolences for those killed during the Thursday shooting at the Capital Gazette newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland.

At the end of the event, Acosta — clearly out of earshot of the president — repeatedly shouted “Will you stop calling the press the enemy of the people, sir?”

And Jim Acosta being Jim Acosta, he had to tweet about it.

Well, of course not. He couldn’t hear you. Given the distance between the men and the noise from the applause Trump was getting, it was clear that Acosta’s shouting was just showboating.

However, that wasn’t what Woods decided to attack. Instead, the conservative actor pointed out Acosta was less of an enemy and more of something else.

Indeed, Acosta is a bit more of a court jester. See, there was something that he didn’t mention. When it came to this trying “to ask the president if he would stop calling (the media) the enemy of the people,” there was no way Trump could respond. And Jim Acosta knew this.

Take a look at this video. Note first, that Acosta is too far away to be heard. Then look what happens at the end.

He appears to turn around and consult with the cameraman, looking quite a bit like he’s asking whether they got the shot or not.

As Breitbart’s John Nolte points out, “Then the camera lights are shut off, which again reveals just how staged and artificial all of this is.”

Most “journalism” nowadays is manufactured entertainment; both the politicians and the networks know it, and usually they play along, much to the detriment of actual discussion.

The Trump administration, for better or worse, hasn’t played ball. This has actually been great for Acosta, who’s cast himself in the role of a man who speaks truth to power, which somehow involves him whining on Twitter about how he doesn’t get enough questions in White House news conferences.

Acosta joins a long line of newsroom publicity whores like Ted Baxter, Jim Dial and Kent Brockman. The thing was, they were fictional. Acosta is all too real — and that makes his jestership even more ridiculous, somehow.
