Joanna Gaines Shares Sweet Message to Husband Chip on Their 16th Wedding Anniversary

Share

The past year has brought about some big changes for Chip and Joanna Gaines, who always seem to be successfully adding another iron to the fire.

In June 2018, the couple welcomed their fifth child, baby Crew.

In addition to raising a newborn, the Gaines family continued to move forward with their Magnolia empire and made plans for a return to television.

Chip and Joanna were named two of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people of the year in spring 2019.

The powerhouse couple also announced plans to launch their own television network, set to debut in the summer of 2020.

The network has not yet been named, but promises to feature family-centered content such as community, home, design and plenty of classic Chip and Joanna HGTV reruns.

“Our intention with this network is to create and curate content that inspires, encourages, and helps to build bridges across our communities,” the couple said, according to Fox News.

“We want honest, authentic programming that brings families together.”

Chip and Joanna famously met in 2001 at a tire shop owned by Joanna’s father.

“Her dad made the mistake of putting a pic of the family behind the counter at his shop,” Chip told PopSugar. “I knew I’d marry her one day just by the picture on the wall.”

While it took Chip weeks to call Joanna back after their first date, as he detailed in “The Magnolia Story,” it was only because he wanted to win a bet he placed with his friend on who could hold out the longest before calling their date back.

Once he finally called her again, the pair became inseparable. They were married on May 31, 2003.

They now have five children together: Drake, 14, Duke, 13, Ella, 13, Emmie, 9, and Crew, 11 months.

Now, 16 years later, it would appear that their marriage continues to be as sweet and strong as ever, deepening in love over time.

Joanna wrote a sweet message to her husband in honor of their 16th wedding anniversary accompanied by a picture that showed the couple posed in front of their gorgeous farmstead in Texas.

“16 years and it feels like we’re just getting started…I love you Chip Carter Gaines,” Joanna captioned the photo.

With new projects on the horizon, we cannot wait to find out what Chip and Joanna have in store over the next 12 months.
