John Krasinski Flew 6,000 Miles Every Weekend To See Family While Filming Far Away

Share

Actor and director John Krasinski may have a lot on his plate, but it appears the “Jack Ryan” star has his life priorities in order.

Krasinski’s family comes first, which is probably why Krasinski’s marriage to actress Emily Blunt has flourished for nearly a decade.

Blunt and Krasinski met in 2008 and married in 2010. They have two daughters, Hazel, 4, and Violet, 2.

When Krasinski and Blunt are both working, the girls stay with their mother and Krasinski makes it a priority to visit them every single weekend.

“Family for me, it’s a non-negotiable thing,” Krasinski said, as reported by The Insider. “So if I’m honest, I was shooting 6,000 miles away from them, and I flew back every single weekend.”

Krasinski was referring to his time in Montreal, where he filmed the Amazon series, “Jack Ryan.” His wife, meanwhile, was busy filming “Mary Poppins Returns” in London.

The actor said traveling back and forth was “brutal,” but he counts it all as joy, saying his family is really very fortunate.

“I always want the base to be with their mom, and I’ll do the flight time,” Krasinski said.

“I think that there’s nothing you can complain about in this business, you know what I mean?” he said. “We are all so lucky to be doing what we’re doing.”

“If there’s one thing that’s a bummer, it’s that you spend time away from your kids,” Krasinski said. “But guess what, a lot of people spend time away from their kids.”

“So for me, I think we’re all living in a fantasy camp,” he concluded. “So I’m not going to be the first one to complain.”
