NASCAR Champ Tony Stewart Makes Hilarious Cameo in Police Lip Sync Video
If you have been on social media in the past month, you have probably seen a video or two of a police department lip syncing to some well-known music.
It all started with deputy Alexander Mena in Bexar County, Texas, on June 19. The video of him singing “Fuiste Mala” by the Kumbia Kings was posted by his department and quickly became a hit.
As of Thursday morning, the viral video has been viewed 1.5 million times!
Mena told ABC how he always took videos of himself lip synching on Snapchat and decided to send one video to his sergeant.
“We wanted some positive stuff to come to the sheriff’s office. With some of the things that happen in law enforcement and with the media … we wanted something more positive and for the community and our deputies to kind of connect together … I did not think that it was going to blow up the way that it did,” Mena said.
The comment on the post inspired other officers in nearby counties to rise to the challenge of beating the “mean lip sync skill” and before we knew it, departments across America started to join in.
The challenge soon started to include more and more officers, and the creativity started to flow.
From animals to skits, the police departments across the country have been bringing smiles to many viewers this past month.
Now, one police department in Columbus, Indiana, has released their lip sync video earlier this week, and they had a great cameo.
At the beginning of their video, it starts with a car chase. When the car finally stops and the driver gets out, “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Bonnie Tyler begins to play.
It is then when we see who the driver of the speedy car is: NASCAR champion Tony Stewart.
Stewart was born in Hoosier City and was happy to be a part of the video. Viewers loved the cameo and many claimed that this is the best one so far.
Looks like the Columbus Police Department just brought the lip sync battle to a whole new level!
