MLB Pitcher Reunited with Missing Dog After Fans Help Find 'Best Friend'
You’re driving around, picking up kids or groceries or meeting up with friends, and you see sheets of paper plastered to traffic poles and posts.
What are they for? Usually garage sales, some kind of sketchy-looking business endeavor, or a lost pet.
If you are or have been a pet owner, those signs tug at your heartstrings. You think about your own beloved animal out on the streets, lost, maybe cold, probably hungry.
Now the most common — and fastest — way to spread the word is through social media. Tons of people will see the photos and the message, and people will be on the lookout much faster.
And even famous people know the power of social media in the wake of a lost pet. Archie Bradley, a pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks, recently tapped into the massive network to alert people about his lost dog.
Crash, his black Labrador, somehow got out while he was gone for a game on Saturday night. He’d had friends staying over, but they didn’t know where his dog was.
“They were like, ‘You didn’t bring Crash to the field with you?'” he said. “I was like, Why would I bring my dog to the field with me?'”
“They were like, ‘Oh, well, yeah, he’s not here.’ I’m like, ‘What?'”
To make matters worse, Bradley had just removed Crash’s collar because it was dirty, and he hadn’t had a chance to put it back on. Thankfully he was microchipped.

Fortunately, since he had such a fan base, his Twitter post got even more attention, and people were on the lookout for the cuddly escapee.
“I did not sleep very well,” Bradley said. “I’m not married, no kids yet — that’s like my boy. That’s my best friend. We sleep together every night.”
“I picked him out right when he was born. So literally, I’ve been with that guy since the day he was born.”
In less than 24 hours, someone had found the black lab, and he was safe. Bradley still had a game to play before he could pick up his furry friend, but he was relieved to know he was in good hands.
“I’m gonna spoil the mess out of him. I don’t know what I’m going to buy him, but tomorrow we’re going to have a spa day,” Bradley said.
“I have to thank you people out there, from Twitter to the news to the Nextdoor app. Arizona really came together, and I was able to find my dog in less than 24 hours. My heart’s happy.”
