Viral Photo: 7 State Police Officers Posing with Their Sweet Newborns

Share

Sometimes all we see of law enforcement is the enforcement part. We’ve probably had a mix of good and bad experiences with cops, but when we see (or think we see) red and blue lights in the rearview mirror, our pulses often quicken even when we haven’t done anything.

Policemen and women have to be tough when it counts, but a cop who truly lives to protect and serve will exhibit a more tender side, too.

That’s what leads to heartwarming stories of cops helping out by holding babies while moms fill out paperwork, working with the affluent to hand out Holiday cash gifts and setting up exciting proposals.

They have their own home lives, too. There’s a world beyond the uniform, and they have families and kids’ school programs and household chores, just like the rest of us.

But one group of cops from Kentucky has something a little extra going for them. Seven policemen from Kentucky State all had babies born into their families at roughly the same time.

Seven officers, seven kiddos. Since they were all friends, their wives hatched a plan: Why not commemorate this wonderful occasion with a keepsake photo?

They ended up going with photographer Vicky Puckett, who runs HUEit Photography by Vicky Lea. She posted the album to her photography Facebook page on Nov. 18, and it’s since been picked up by various news outlets.

“Kentucky is blessed with the watchful eyes of the Kentucky State Police for seven days a week, 365 days a year!” she wrote. “This year some of our officers were blessed with 7 miracles of their own!”

Aside from providing these seven families with a beautiful, unique gift, Puckett also used the main photo to bring attention to another offer she wanted to extend to the boys (and girls) in blue, as well as other emergency personnel.

“In order to continue giving thanks and showing appreciation to our first responders, we will be giving away 7 complimentary family mini sessions to 7 families or first responders,” she wrote on her website.

“Winners will be chosen at random on Monday, November 26th @ 10 AM. All winners will be emailed.”

Puckett posted the winners on Monday afternoon, and now seven more families will get a wonderful gift just in time for Christmas!
