Man Spends $540 and Buys Out Girl Scout Cookie Stand To Get Girls out of the Cold
UPDATE, Feb. 26, 2019: After the publication of this article, The Smoking Gun reported that the man who purchased the Girl Scout cookies, 46-year-old Detric Lee McGowan, sometimes known as "Fat," was arrested Tuesday morning by Drug Enforcement Agents as one of 11 defendants named in a 22-count U.S. District Court indictment. McGowan has been charged with conspiracy to distribute illegal drugs, cash smuggling and other crimes. While McGowan is obviously innocent unless and until proven guilty, these accusations cannot but cast a pall over his otherwise admirable act of kindness. The Facebook post from Kayla Dillard about the sale has apparently -- and understandably -- been removed or made private, and we have therefore removed it from our article.

Teen Slams into School Bus and Dies Instantly, Then Police Find Cellphone in Her Hand
UPDATE: The Facebook post upon which this story was largely based has apparently been taken down. That and the facts that the Chester Country Sheriff's Office is not in the state in which this tragic accident took place, the apparent lack of mention of the cellphone in any other news coverage, and a statement from a self-described family friend that Katelyn Ray was not found with a cellphone in her hand, have caused us to reach out to the sheriff's office to inquire about the source of their information and why they deleted the Facebook post. We will update this article with their response or lack thereof, and may issue a correction or retraction based on that information.

Michael Buble Reportedly Quits Music, Gives ‘Last Interview’ During Son’s Battle with Cancer
UPDATE: According to a fact check published by The Associated Press about a week after this article was first published, Michael Buble is not planning to retire anytime soon. According to the AP: "The Canadian singer says he is not retiring from music despite reports circulating online. In an interview with The Associated Press, Buble disputed a report in the Daily Mail that said he would quit music after the release of his upcoming album 'Love,' due out Nov. 16. The report suggested that the Grammy-winning singer was stepping away from music for good following his son Noah’s cancer battle. Buble responded to the report saying, 'I’ll keep going until the news of my death comes out, which will probably be fake too.' The Daily Mail said it stands by its reporting."

Nursing Home Escapees Found Safe & Sound at World’s Largest Heavy Metal Concert
CORRECTION: Although widely reported, the essential facts of this article were later found to have been false. According to NPR , the two men were in fact escapees from a "home for people with mental health issues" who traveled to Wacken to have some drinks, not to attend the Wacken Open Air music festival -- although they were said to have "obviously liked" the event. We apologize for the error.
