Share

As Tropical Storm Florence bears down on the Southeastern coast, the true heroes of the storm are starting to emerge.

Evacuees have left the region in a hurry. Having nowhere to turn, many pets were left behind.

These pets were left to fend for themselves amid the ravaging storm waters and damage.

Pet owners could only hope that these animals would make it out alive as they were only able to save their family from the destruction of the storm.

As the water makes its way higher, some real heroes are coming to the aid of these poor pets, according to WYFF.

Searching high and low, a group of men has taken a boat to try and find the abandoned animals in hopes of saving them from Florence.

The men act as their own search party in Jacksonville, North Carolina, using their own boat to navigate the water that at this point is a hefty knee deep.

Looking for any animal that is stranded and frightened, they make their way along the neighborhood streets, finding cats and dogs. No animal is turned away.

Would you brave a hurricane to save an animal?

Not even knowing what they are going to do with the animals after they have been rescued, they just know that it is their mission to save them.

Using great care and survival skills, the men team together to locate the animals and carry them to the safety of the boat. The animals are frightened, but that does not deter the men.

Heading to dry land, the animals are provided the care they need to survive the hurricane and hopefully reunite with their loving family once again.

These men prove that there are heroes among us everywhere, no matter the disaster and devastation that lies ahead.

In a separate search effort, a pastor is also rescuing kittens and dogs left behind in Jacksonville, North Carolina, since the flooding started, according to CBS.

If these heroes can help through these unbearable conditions, then there is hope that many animals will be saved during the surge of the storm.

Thank you for your bravery and help heroes. We know these pets appreciate the help and look forward to seeing their loving families again.
