Samaritan Carves Tree into Cross at Mother's Memorial After Family Feared It'd Be Cut Down
Memorial sites are meaningful to all who have lost a loved one. They are symbols of the last memories they have of their family member and are visited often to remember them.
Malinda Plumb is one of these people. She lost her mother, Carolyn Plumb, three years ago, according to Stitch.
A memorial site was created out of a tree on the Des Moines, Iowa, property where her mother was born 76 years ago.
Malinda and her sisters visited the tree each month to commemorate their mother and relive the memories they shared with her.
They decorated the tree during the holidays and really made it a special place to remember their mother.
As a development took over the site, Malinda and her sisters worried that the memorial of their mother would be torn down.
They were devastated at the possibility and wondered how they would keep their mother’s memory alive.
Little did Malinda and her sisters know, their worry would soon turn into wonder and delight.
During one visit, the three sisters were surprised to find the memorial tree had been carved into a cross by an anonymous stranger.
The cross not only stood where the tree once did, but it became a greater symbol of love to their mother than ever before.
Malinda and her sisters are eternally grateful to the good Samaritan who took the time and effort to create the cross so that their mother’s memorial will continue to commemorate her life.
While the three sisters are genuinely appreciative of the act of kindness, they just want to find out who did the good deed so that they can express their gratitude.
