JetBlue Worker Finds Heartbroken Little Girl's Teddy Bear with Military Dad's Voice
Like most little girls, 6-year-old Paisley Garlisi has a special stuffed animal that goes everywhere with her.
The teddy bear named Lucy is more than just a stuffed bear. Every time Paisley squeezes Lucy’s paw, Paisley’s dad’s voice comes out.
“Hi Paisley, I love you and I miss you,” her dad’s recording says. See, Paisley’s father, Chad Garlisi, is a member of the Army National Guard.
Garlisi made the recording for Paisley to bring her comfort while he is serving in Kosovo on his third deployment.
But disaster struck on June 3 while Paisley was traveling with her family from Pennsylvania to Rhode Island.
Paisley was carrying Lucy through T.F. Green Airport when the beloved bear somehow got misplaced.
WBZ-TV posted a picture of the girl and her bear on Facebook to try and reunite the pair. It was shared over 3,000 times.
JetBlue employee Hayley Monfils helped find the bear while she was working at the airport.
“Walking through the airport and it looked like American had this new little mascot at their baggage service,” Monfils told WBZ. “I thought how cute! And I was scrolling through Facebook and I said I know that teddy bear — I just saw that!”
The airport staff kept Lucy bear company until WBZ reunited the bear with Paisley on June 4.
WBZ made sure the bear was buckled and safely delivered back to the little girl.
Paisley hugged her bear — who was wearing new JetBlue sunglasses and a backpack — tight after they were reunited.
“Thank you very much, it’s very much appreciated,” Paisley’s mom said. It’s truly heartwarming to see the great lengths all these people went to for this military family.
