Man Fakes Life Threatening Injury to Stage Proposal, Causes Mixed Emotions Online
The lengths men will go to in order to propose to their girlfriends sometimes amazes me.
I’ve watched a ton — more than I will care to admit — of proposal videos online, dreaming of the day when it is my turn.
I’m not too big on huge, romantic gestures, but it’s fun to see husbands-to-be put together flash mobs and firework displays to propose to their girlfriends.
And just when I think I’ve seen it all, someone comes up with another idea. Though this one was met with mixed emotions.
When one girlfriend ran to the hospital, she was told that her boyfriend had a life-threatening injury.
She cried as the paramedics wheeled him in, strapped to a gurney and then lifted his body onto the table for the doctor to examine.
“What happened??” she asked through her tears.
“Baby, you’re my everything. You’re everything I’ve ever hoped for. You’re the first thing I think of in the morning. You’re the last thing I think of at night,” her boyfriend says.
His girlfriend didn’t seem to be listening as she asks the paramedic, “What’s wrong with his face?” as it was covered by a towel.
“I just want you to know how much I love you,” he continued. “I’ve got one question for you.”
And all of a sudden, the emergency blanket is yanked off to reveal her boyfriend in a suit and tie holding roses.
Her crying, “Oh my God” in response pretty much summed up my reaction too.
Her boyfriend climbs off the hospital bed and proceeds to get down on one knee as she continues to sob. “Will you marry me?” he asks.
“Yes I will,” she responds, followed by a teary, “I’m gonna kill you.” And he hugs her as she continues to cry. She muffles more frustrations, coherently telling him to never do that to her again.
Most of the comments on the video ran along the lines of how this was a cruel joke, though others thought it was creative.
Despite the unique proposal, I truly wish these two the best in their lives together.
