Story Behind 6-Year-Old Saluting Fallen Deputy's Memorial is Truly Heartwarming

Share

Most children have had a lemonade stand or bake sale sometime in their life.

On a warm, summer day they excitedly stir together the lemon juice, water, and sugar and sit behind a table on the corner of the street in hopes that someone passing by will want to buy something.

After all, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade, at least that’s what one Indiana boy thought.

But he wanted to raise money for more than just his piggy bank or little league baseball team.

This six-year-old sold hot chocolate and lemonade to help the family of fallen Deputy Jacob Pickett.

Pickett was the first officer from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office killed in the line of duty since 1935.

Malachi Fronczak has warmed the hearts of many by selling lemonade, hot cocoa and other baked goods to support Pickett’s family.

“It’s wonderful. Anytime your kids have a big heart, want to serve others, I think it’s important as a parent to support that. It’s great to see him out wanting to do that,” Jason Fronczak said.

Malachi’s Magnificent Lemonade raised almost $7,000 for the fallen Deputy’s family.

The six-year-old and his family also visited a memorial set up for Pickett where he signed an American flag honoring the fallen deputy.

Malachi showed the world his patriotism when someone captured a picture of him saluting the memorial.

The young boy left a bottle of lemonade at the memorial with a message that read, “from: Malachi’s Magnificent Lemonade Stand.”

We are blown away by the giving heart of this little boy. Keep up the good work Malachi!
