Home Alone Star 'Kevin' Recreates Hilarious Scenes from Christmas Movie Filmed 28 Years Ago

Share

As soon as the Thanksgiving dishes are put away (and sometimes even before), Christmas carols flood the radio station and Christmas movies fill the television screen.

There are so many great holiday films to choose from and you can hardly ever go wrong with a classic like “It’s a Wonderful Life” or “White Christmas.”

Another beloved Christmas film is “Home Alone.” Most families can relate to the preface of a large family trying to catch their flight for their Christmas vacation. They make a mad dash for the airport, and barely make it on the plane.

But the McCallister family seemed to have forgotten one important thing: their 8-year-old son named Kevin.

The Christmas comedy stars Macaulay Culkin, and his character has to protect the house from two burglars while everyone else is away.

Five sequels to the original film have been made over the years, gaining popularity as time passes on.

Any reference to this movie creates an ultimate sense of nostalgia for viewers, taking them back to their childhoods or the times when they watched this adorable movie with family and friends.

Twenty-eight years later, Culkin has revived his old role and returned to the big screen in a new advertisement for the Google Assistant.

The ad opens up on the McCallister home, as if it hasn’t been 28 years, and features the iconic scene of Kevin waking up alone in the house.

“Hey Google, what’s on the calendar today?” he asks the gadget. The Google Assistant replies, “You have one event called house to yourself.”

Culkin proceeds to continue to re-enact other scenes from the movie like jumping on his bed, watching black-and-white movies, applying aftershave and so much more.

But there is a twist — Google has humorously modernized the short video by including Google Assistant in Kevin’s day.

This advertisement is truly genius, and viewers everywhere are loving seeing a grown-up Kevin back in his original role.

Is “Home Alone” one of your favorite Christmas films? What do you think of Culkin’s remake?
