TV Host Never Allows Kids To Fly 1st Class, Seats Them in Economy So They Don't Get Spoiled
Every time I take a flight, I often find myself peering over at the closed curtains and sectioned-off area with the highly-esteemed label of “First Class.” Flying first class on an airplane has always been such a mysterious subject to me.
I always imagine the high-quality food those customers are receiving — the deluxe dinners, the special desserts and the wonderful drinks.
And I always wonder who is behind those curtains and how they got there — their jobs, where they’re going and why, etc.
One can only hope that one day, after years of hard work, they too will be able to fly with these luxuries.
For celebrity Kirstie Allsopp, this is something she wholeheartedly believes.
46-year-old Allsopp, the “Location, Location, Location” presenter, has two sons — 12-year-old Bay and 10-year-old Oscar — with her long-term boyfriend Ben Anderson.
But when the family flies, Allsopp does not allow her two sons to fly in luxury with her and Anderson.
In an effort to teach them to work hard and earn money, their two sons fly economy while Allsopp and her boyfriend fly in business class.
“Club Class should be a huge treat you’ve worked hard for. If kids get used to it, what do they have to work towards? It seems like an absurd waste of money and very spoiling,” Allsopp said. “If I’m going to spend money, it’s on the holiday itself rather than the flights.”
And the TV presenter does exactly that!
She and her family venture on extraordinary vacations, going everywhere from New York City to the beaches of Greece. Kirstie loves to post pictures along the way of their many exciting trips.
Kirstie Allsopp’s choice to have her sons fly in economy class is one that reflects the value of experiences over privilege — the value of hard work over being spoiled.
