Rescuers Find Injured Dog by Railroad Tracks. Owner Says They Don't Want Him Back

Share

Howl of a Dog serves as a beacon for local street dogs and kill-shelter dogs of Romania. Volunteers make it their duty to capture these animals and find them a loving home.

Many of the rescued pups they’ve come in contact with have experienced some form of abuse and neglect.

But, others like 9-year-old Bobi have endured months of loneliness.

Just recently, rescuers found the injured pup wandering near railroad tracks. He was obviously without a home.

When trying to capture Bobi, volunteers decided to lure him away from the tracks. They didn’t want their chase to cause him to “get hit by a passing train.”

They said, “It was quite a marathon as he ran away each time we approached him.

But he eventually understood we are only trying to help him, or maybe the smell of the yummy treats finally reached his nose.”

After gaining his trust, rescuers noticed hat Bobi was suffering from a limp and scar next to his left eye, so they rushed him to the vet.

Once there, they discovered the older dog had a microchip and was able to contact his owner.

They soon discovered that Bobi had run away from home, which was 10 miles away. Sad to say, but the owner didn’t want the missing dog back.

Disappointed by this news, Howl of a Dog decided to make the best of Bobi’s situation. They started working on finding him a forever home.

Bobi was soon on the road to rehabilitation. Not only was he neutered, but he was updated on all his vaccination shots.

The only health issue he had was blindness in his left eye. Other than that, the gentle, lovable pooch was running around, going for walks, and enjoying life again.

A YouTube video in January showed Bobi’s rescue and transformation.

Since then, the organization has waited for a “caring adoptive family to offer him a home” as far away as Canada, Europe, or even the U.S.

Even though he has reached his “golden years,” Bobi is still young and full of energy. His curious, playful, and obedient nature is very evident and will make for great companionship one day.
