Child Sex Offender Caught Trying to Illegally Enter Country
The United States is a tempting place for hardworking people looking to start a new life. Unfortunately, it is also tempting to criminals.
Thankfully, Border Patrol agents are always on the lookout. It is through their hard work and diligence that many of these criminals are removed from the country before they can commit further harm.
Esau Rios-Osorio, 29, was convicted on charges of child exploitation and maintaining child pornography.
Because he was an undocumented immigrant, he was immediately expelled from the United States.
Incredibly, he tried to return to the US not long after his expulsion. Thanks to the efforts of diligent Border Patrol agents, Rios-Osorio was caught in Yuma, Arizona, not long after crossing the border.
As Rios-Osorio was being processed, agents performed a records check. It was then that they learned of his previous felony convictions.
Rios-Osorio was traveling with two other men, also undocumented immigrants.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, “Agents are processing all three men for immigration violations, in accordance with Yuma Sector guidelines.”
Rios-Osorio is just one of many convicted offenders who have been arrested upon illegal reentry.
Recently, another convicted sex offender, Hector Macedo-Arellano, was picked up by patrol agents and will face prosecution for Reentry After Removal.
Of course, such events are all in a day’s work for Border Patrol agents. They remain in a constant state of vigilance in order to protect the citizens of the United States.
“Our agents continue to intercept and remove threats to our communities like this on a daily basis,” said Assistant Chief Patrol Agent, David S. Kim.
“If you’ve preyed on those here in the United States and return we’ll be looking for you and we’ll prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.”

Thanks to Border Patrol agents, Americans can rest a bit more easily knowing these offenders are not back on our streets.
