Military Member Stationed Overseas Has Old Pickup Stolen, Family Offering Reward

Share

Men and women who serve in the military sacrifice so much in order to protect our country.

Normally this gains them a lot of respect, but a thief in Madison County, Alabama, displayed the opposite by stealing the beloved red pickup truck of an active-duty military member, who is currently serving overseas.

The red 1963 Chevrolet C10 was being held by the uncle of the military member.

Shortly after the uncle passed away, in late June, the thief (or thieves) wandered onto the uncle’s property, stole the truck and rummaged through the house.

The family reached out to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department to report that the truck was missing.

Madison County Sheriff’s Department is now actively searching for the vintage truck in the hopes of returning it to its rightful owner.

On June 28, 2019, the sheriff’s department tweeted that a $1000 reward had been offered for the recovery of the truck.

Just a few days later, on July 3rd, the sheriff’s department tweeted that the reward amount had been raised to $3000.

“High sentimental value and the victim is AD military serving abroad,” the sheriff’s department wrote, further stressing the heartbreaking reality of the missing truck.

A poster featuring pictures of the vintage truck called it a “family heirloom.”

“Please help us recover our beloved truck,” the family wrote on the flyer.
