Share

Actor and comedian Will Ferrell was rushed to the hospital the evening of April 12 after a serious car accident.

The 50-year-old was riding in an SUV when it flipped over during the two-car accident on an Orange County Freeway.

Ferrell had just attended an event for “Funny or Die” in San Diego where he made an appearance as Ron Burgundy, his character from “Anchorman.”

The actor was one of three passengers in the car. All three were taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

The SUV was sideswiped from the rear by a Toyota around 11 p.m., according to TMZ, causing it to spin and flip over.

Ferrell was being driven by a chauffeur at the time.

No one has been arrested, as police are still investigating, but drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor.

After the SUV was flipped back over, however, empty beer bottles were reported to be seen in the roadway.

Although the extent of the actor’s injuries is unclear, a witness told TMZ that he was bleeding profusely at the scene.

The same witness also reported that the vehicle Ferrell was riding in was more seriously damaged than the Toyota.
