Brave Moment Woman Takes First Steps 2 Weeks After Being Hit by Truck

Anyone who has worked with a physical therapist has probably heard that the fastest route to recovery is having a positive attitude.

Rehabilitation is painful and progress is often slow and frustrating, but a patient who shows determination and tenacity stands the best chance of recovery.

Despite her pain, the woman in this video showed incredible strength and determination as she took her first steps just two weeks after being hit by a truck.

In a post on Reddit, the woman explained the traumatizing accident that left her having to relearn how to walk. She shattered her pelvis, endured four surgeries, six internal injuries and three blood transfusions.

She spent 45 minutes trapped inside her vehicle before rescue crews could extract her by cutting through the roof.

“I want to express my gratitude to the doctors and physical therapists,” the woman wrote.

“This was so incredibly painful but I was so overjoyed to be walking,” she wrote on Reddit. “I can not put weight on the left side of my body and use a wheelchair to go anywhere farther than the bathroom.”

She explained that while on her way to work one morning, she was hit by a truck.

“I was life-flighted to a hospital,” she wrote, expressing her gratitude to everyone who helped on that fateful day.

“The witnesses ran to me and stayed by my side even though I was unconscious, the trauma team was so kind and quick,” she wrote.

“I’m so grateful for everything and I look forward to being able to walk on the grass and in the sand with my children again.”

Reddit users erupted with support and praise for the young woman, encouraging her to stay strong while praising her for her positive attitude.
