Bride Sobs Uncontrollably to Cops After Discovering What Wedding Cake Was Really Made Of

Share

A 26-year-old bride was left in tears during her wedding reception when she discovered the cake she’d paid for was mostly fake.

It was supposed to be one of the most joyful celebrations of Shine Tamayo’s life.

She had spent months carefully planning the details of her wedding ceremony and reception, looking forward to a celebratory day with her loved ones.

Wearing her lovely wedding gown, Tamayo married Jhon Corr Chen, 40, on Dec. 3, 2018, in Pasig City, the Philippines.

When the newlywed couple walked into their hotel reception, they were met with one disaster after another.

Tamayo had hired caterer Krissa Cananea to manage the food, beverages and wedding cake for the reception.

Tamayo had already made the necessary payments to the caterer and had every reason to believe the reception would flow without a hitch.

But Cananea never delivered any food, leaving Tamayo and Chen scrambling to try and feed a large crowd.

Have you seen a wedding nightmare like this one?

They ended up buying large trays of food from a local restaurant on a whim, trays of rice, noodles and whatever else the restaurant could provide at a moment’s notice.

After the frenzied meal, Tamayo and Chen moved on to their wedding cake, which Cananea had delivered. The two-tiered cake was decorated in gold and red frosting with floral work on the top.

But when Tamayo cut into the cake, she discovered more than half the cake was completely fake.

She was humiliated to find that the entire bottom tier was made out of polystyrene foam, neatly concealed with red frosting.

Only the top, smaller-tiered portion of the cake was edible.

Unable to hide her disappointment, Tamayo broke down in sobs.

Her guests, furious to see the lovely bride taken advantage of, hauled Tamayo and the caterer to the police station to file a report.

“The woman we paid to do the food has ruined my wedding,” a tearful Tamayo said, according to the caption of the video posted on Rumble.

“She’s a liar. She always asked me for money and I always gave her what she needs because I wanted my wedding to be perfect.”

Tamayo says that “I’m sorry,” is not good enough — she expects Cananea to face justice for committing fraud, according to The Sun.

“I have never been so humiliated in all my life,” she said. “This was supposed to be one of my most treasured memories for my entire life. Instead, it is the worst.”

A spokesman told The Sun that an investigation is ongoing.

“We have confirmed that a large amount of money was paid for the service which was not delivered adequately,” the spokesman said.

“The provider, Miss Krissa Cananea, has been interviewed and we intend to take the case to a trial.”

While the bride’s wedding day went much differently than anticipated, it’s likely that the caterer won’t have the opportunity to deceive any more clients.
