Grandmother Cries Tears of Joy Meeting Granddaughter for Very 1st Time
Do you remember the first time you laid eyes on your newborn grandchild? Many grandparents find themselves reduced to tears, in awe of the tiny bundle before their eyes.
Of course, not all grandparents live close to their grandkids. Sometimes a baby is a little more grown up before the first face-to-face introduction.
The grandmother in this heartwarming video was living across the globe from her baby granddaughter. Grandma lived in the U.S. and her grandbaby was born in Japan.
Grandma never expected the following scenario when she opened her front door one winter night.
Sitting in the walkway was a baby, buckled into a car seat, with a small sign draped over her body.
The sign was in the shape of the United States and read, “Home for the Holidays.”
Within seconds, Grandma went from puzzled to overwhelmed with emotion as she realized she was staring at her granddaughter for the very first time.
How had her family orchestrated a surprise visit from Japan to the states? How had everyone managed to keep it all a secret?
Grandma couldn’t answer the questions flying to her mind, but really, the details didn’t matter. She lifted the carseat into her house and unbuckled her baby granddaughter.
Crying tears of joy, Grandma held the baby in her arms for the first time. Baby was happily compliant, completely unaware of the magnitude of the event.
“This is the best present I’ve ever had in my life!” the weeping Grandma exclaimed. Surrounded by excited family members, Grandma tried to take in the overwhelm of emotions.
Grandma kissed her grandbaby as her family delighted in the successful surprise. They’d been planning the whole thing for a month, trying not to spoil the surprise.
