Donut Shops Celebrating National Donut Day with Free Donuts
National Donut Day is upon us! And fans of fluffy, fried dough coated in the creamy glaze (sprinkles anyone?) are in for a sweet treat.
A number of donut chains across the U.S. are offering donuts free of charge on June 1 to mark the holiday honoring The Salvation Army “Doughnut Girls,” who served free coffee and donuts to troops during World War I. This day began as a way to raise funds and bring awareness to The Salvation Army’s social service programs.
Here are the donut freebies we know of so far, and we’ll be sure to add to the list as more sweet deals surface.
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts
Every customer visiting Krispy Kreme on National Donut Day gets a choice of any style of donut — any donut they desire — free of charge, no purchase required.

Dunkin Donuts
Buy any beverage on National Donut Day at Dunkin Donuts and get one classic donut for free.
Are you a mega chocolate fan? Try their Double Chocolate Cake Donut. It can’t get much better than that.
Fractured Prune
Each customer gets one free OC Sand donut (glazed & covered in cinnamon sugar) on National Donut Day, no purchase required.
Purchase any of their other donuts and choose from at least a dozen glazes and a dozen toppings. It’s blow-your-mind, mouth-watering goodness!
Duck Donuts
When visiting any of Duck Donut’s locations on National Donut Day, you will receive one of three different types of donuts for free! This includes bare, cinnamon sugar, or powdered sugar — no purchase necessary!
Make it to the shop any other day and try their fan favorite — a vanilla cake donut coated with maple icing with pieces of bacon on top.
Honey Dew Donuts
Honey Dew Donuts is offering their customers a free S’More donut with the purchase of any medium size or larger beverage on National Donut Day.
What’s a S’More donut you ask? It’s a soft donut ring, topped with chocolate frosting, graham cookies, and marshmallows.
