Campfire Accident Burns Whole Body. Knows She's Dying in Ambulance, Begs God to Let Her into Heaven

Life doesn’t always work out the way we expect it to. Everything can change in the blink of an eye.

One Georgia mom knows firsthand just how fragile life is. Her world flipped upside down when she least expected it.

Courtney Waldon was sitting around the campfire with her husband in 2016, when the fire started to go out. Hoping to keep it alive longer, her husband poured gasoline on the fire.

Something went terribly wrong, and the fire roared onto Waldon’s body. As the ambulance transported her to the hospital, Waldon experienced the most pain she had ever felt.

Feeling like she was going to die, Waldon begged God to allow her into heaven.

Her life was spared, but she would have to live with the result of what happened for the rest of her life.

Waldon was placed in a medically induced coma for weeks and has had to have dozens of skin grafts.

After waking up from the coma, the mother was in for another life-changing surprise.

Her husband picked up and left Waldon and their 5-year-old daughter. This left the mother and daughter homeless and without an income.

“I went from being the very pretty girl, just married, had my life in order to barely being able to dress myself and needing help for everything and having to learn how to do things over again,” said Waldon. The medical bills piled up to an unimaginable amount.

The community rallied around the mother-daughter pair. It wasn’t long before people came together and began building a house for Waldon.

“You never know how many people donated their time and money for this, and we are just so grateful,” said Waldon’s dad.

The way that the community came together for Waldon is absolutely inspiring.

“I’ve been managing to get my life back, I’m just pushing forward every day to make myself better for myself and for my daughter,” said Waldon. She may look different on the outside, but she is just as strong as she ever was on the inside, if not stronger.
