Brave Mother Tricks Fake Cop Who Flashed Gun, Saves Her 4 Children Using a Taco

A mother’s intuition is an incredible gift. Not only does it mean that, yes, your mom is probably right in most situations, but their unexplained understanding of a threat or problem can be life-saving.

Take one mother-of-four from California whose intuition and quick thinking saved her family from a dangerous situation.

After spending the day at a water park, the family decided to stop for carne asada tacos for dinner at a food truck.

But around 6:30 p.m., a man approached the family at their van claiming to be an undercover cop.

Without missing a beat, the mom immediately knew the man was not who he claimed to be and began devising a plan to get her family away from him.

“The mother instantly began to put together a plan in place to distance her husband, three daughters and toddler who was still buckled in his car seat inches away from the man with a gun,” police explained.

As he flashed his gun and badge at the family to attempt to prove that he was a cop, the mom knew what she had to do — and offered him a taco.

Claiming she needed to grab more napkins from the food truck, the mother then walked over to the truck to alert customers and employees. Telling them not to look at the man threatening her family, the woman told them to call 911 immediately.

“The man with the gun continued to flash his gun and ransack through the mother’s purse as she walked away,” a news release said.

Police quickly arrived to find the man still standing near the family’s van. He allegedly attempted to flee by throwing the gun in the van before getting into it, but police officers quickly detained him.

The man was later charged with impersonation of an officer and child endangerment, in addition to outstanding warrants.

“Deputies were able to detain the suspect before anything further occurred. Deputies recovered the gun and made sure all family members were unharmed,” police said.

Thanks to one mother trusting her gut feeling, a dangerous situation was avoided and her family was able to go home together that night.
